For spring, lipstick trends seem to be hitting opposite ends of the spectrum (bright and bold orange hues to subtle, nothing-on-the-lip type looks). I was going through my lipsticks and found that these two NARS Cinematic Lipsticks (Future Red and Last Tango) by Guy Bourdin are the perfect shades for spring. And, for those of you who want that barely there look of natural nude lips, the NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in New Lover is such a pretty shade that adds a slightly pink, sheer tint. Also- nothing beats NARS packaging and I love how they have the same signature matte velvet black casing for their lipsticks!

Future Red is a red lipstick with an orange undertone so it’s great for those of you who want to try an orange-based hue but don’t want to go for those bright corals and oranges. It’s also really nice when used as a stain- just apply the lipstick with a lip brush and dab off the excess on to a tissue (re-apply a few times).

Last Tango is a gorgeous universally flattering pink-toned nude. It’s the ideal shade if you want to do a nude lip but don’t want to go for those super beige shades that can make you look washed out (and sickly!). Such a great shade for the spring and summer months when you don’t want a lot of colour on your lips but still want to look healthy.

These two lipsticks are from the limited edition NARS x Guy Bourdin collection, but you can easily find other lipsticks in similar shades (like MAC Lady Danger or MAC Hug Me). I just love the idea of having two versatile lipsticks (one bold and one nude) for spring that are on-trend and easy to wear.

If you’ve tried these shades, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
