YSL Flower Crush

Before I get started on the post, I’ve announced the winner of the MAC Lipstick Giveaway today, so check back to this post to see who the lucky subscriber is!

On to the product- the packaging of this YSL Flower Crush Eyeshadow palette is stunning. The five eyeshadows are housed in a crisp gold and pink lacquer casing with intricate floral-esque patterns embossed into the lid. I’m a big sucker for packaging, and I love the details on this one- it really reminds me that it’s actually closer to spring (and hopefully further from the polar vortex that we’ve had to experience all winter on the East Coast!).

As part of their Flower Crush Collection which launched for spring, the shades in this eyeshadow palette are flattering on every skin tone and any age (the darker eggplant hue looks especially great on mature women as well). Monochromatic nude looks were seen everywhere on the runways for spring, so the champagne and peach tones in this palette will really come in handy to pull off those looks at home! The strip of gold toned shadow in the centre of the palette can also double as a highlighter that’s especially flattering for olive skin tones. The quality of the eyeshadows are highly pigmented (I expect nothing less from YSL!) and although there is high shimmer throughout all of the shades, it’s very finely milled and not too glitter-like at all.

Has anyone got their hands on the new YSL spring collection yet? If so, let me know in the comments which one is your favourite item (I’ve also been meaning to give the peachy blush a try too)!
