My take on Valentine’s-themed nails- a deep oxblood shade with graphic black lines.
1. Essence Nail Polish in “Do You Speak Love”– Love how the polish applicator is a square-shaped brush that covers almost the entire nail which makes for foolproof application. The formula dries really fast as well, so it doesn’t take a long time to build up a nice opaque layer of colour. Huge fan of Essence polishes, so when I saw it in this oxblood shade I grabbed it right away. Did I mention it was under $2?!
2. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in “Pat On The Black”- I had this black polish on hand at home already, so I decided to use it with a paint brush (see below) instead of buying a new polish that came with a thin brush.
3. Nail striping brush- I actually used a thin-tipped paintbrush (from the craft store!) with my black polish to draw the graphic lines. If you’re using a paintbrush, look for one with finer, softer bristles for more even application and make sure to have nail polish remover on hand to clean it right after using and before the varnish hardens.
